Weekly inspiration for you at home, this week brought to you by Danielle
Understanding The World
- Make a Family Tree - Use pictures to build up a family tree. Talk to your family about what they do/did for a job, what their favourite activity is and when they were born. If you don’t know the answer you could ring/video call your family to get the answers. You could even add photos or drawings of each family member.
- Life cycle of animals - you can get lots of resources on Twinkl.
- Egg cress heads
– Make some funny faces and fill the eggshell with cotton wool, cress seeds and water then see them grow some wacky hair!
Literacy
- Make A Story Bag – Put a book inside a bag then add characters or props from the story. These could be drawn, cut out or using toys you already have! Act out the story using props.
- Play I-Spy
- Garden Alphabet – Ask mummy or daddy to chalk different letters on your garden fence. You’ll then need a paint brush and a bucket of water. You can have fun tracing and wiping away different letters – can you spot the letters on your own?
- Make Your Own Story - Draw some pictures for your story book and staple the story together.of course you can add your own writing! Don’t forget to read your story to your family!
Numeracy
- Car Wash – Use toy cars and with wipe away markers, get an adult to help you write numbers on the car. You can spot each number then wash away the number that mummy or daddy says using some soapy water.
- DIY Magnifying Glasses – make these in different shapes. Can you find the same shapes around the house? If you laminate the magnifying glasses, it will look real!
Being Imaginative
- Make Your Own Puzzle -
Draw out your picture on paper, stick it to some card and then cut it out. You can then put the puzzle back together to see your amazing picture! You can even make a tricky one and challenge someone in your family to complete it!
- Make Some Sock Puppets –
(Make sure you use old odd ones!) You can decorate your sock puppet with stickers, googly eyes, a mouth and pretend it is an alien, monster, a pet animal or even your favourite characters from your story books!
